After completing my essay and individual evaluation for the documentary, it's time to begin thinking about my mini research project.
As I am interested in producing promotional travel videos for my 3rd year client project, it will be beneficial to me to use this mini research project to 'test the water' and find out exactly what small businesses are looking for in a video.
My first artefact will involve e-mailing a number of businesses who don't have videos on their website, and gathering their opinions on other businesses that do have videos. I will ask them why they don't have videos and find out what's preventing them from adding a youtube link to their website. After this I could find out what sort of fee the would expect to pay for a video, although I will have to make it clear on the e-mail that I am in no way trying to make a sale to them, as this may deter them from answering the questionnaire.
